Janet Ombasa was born in November of 2005.  Her parents passed away due to HIV/AIDS and she was left completely alone.  She was found in the corner of the house with no care or companionship and was malnourished.  She was diagnosed with scurvy and was very sick.  We brought her into the program in December of 2009 and she is recovering from her illness.

She is in the Baby class for the 2010 school year and is doing well. She loves to smile.

Jackaya Ombiro — SPONSORED

CHILD’S NAME:  JACKAYA  OMBIRO

AGE:  5 YEARS   OLD

SEX:  MALE

GRADE:   NURSARY

RESIDENCE:  KENYAN

CASE  STUDY:

Jackaya Ombiro was born in October of 2005 and is a twin.  His mother passed away while giving birth to him and his sister.  His father abandoned him and his sister at the hospital.  A neighbor took the children in but did not stay around for long so the grandmother took the children in.  However, due to the age of the grandmother she was unable to care for them. 

We brought Jackaya into our program in December of 2009 but his sister stayed with the grandmother.  Jackaya is now in the Nursery grade for the 2010 school year and is working hard to get caught up

Dipora Nyakweba

CHILD’S  NAME:  DIPORA NYAKWEBA

AGE:  4 YEARS   OLD

SEX:   FEMALE

GRADE:  PRE- UNITY

RESIDENCE:  KENYAN

CASE  STUDY:

Dipora Nyakweba was born in March 2005 into a family of four children.  Her mother passed away due to cancer and her father was killed in December 2007 during the National Election.  The children were left alone and there was no hope or means of support.  Their grandmother took them in but due to her age was unable to get food or clothing and could not take the children to school.

We found Dipora in January of 2010 and she was malnourished and very weak.  We brought her into the program on June 2, 2010.  She is now part of the Pre-unity grade in school for the 2010 school year and is currently the top child in class.
